Each appointment type is designed for a specific purpose, so choosing the appropriate appointment will help ensure your pet receives the right care and that your appointment can be scheduled correctly. Office Visit:
Covers standard care, including annual exams, rechecks, lump checks, pediatric/geriatric checkups, non-urgent sick visits, and Rabies vaccines.
- Annual Exams: Comprehensive, routine wellness checks performed once a year to assess your pet’s overall health, track baseline vitals, screen for underlying issues, and update core preventative care.
- Rechecks: Follow-up appointments designed to evaluate how your pet is recovering from a previous illness, surgery, or injury, and to check if a prescribed treatment or medication is working properly.
- Lump Checks: Focused evaluations of new or changing skin growths, masses, or bumps to determine if they are benign or require diagnostics like a fine needle aspirate or biopsy.
- Pediatric Checkups: Specialized visits for young puppies and kittens to monitor proper growth and development, start early vaccine series, establish parasite prevention, and discuss nutrition and training.
- Geriatric Checkups: Targeted senior care visits focusing on age-related changes, such as mobility concerns, arthritis management, organ function monitoring, and maintaining quality of life for older pets.
- Non-Urgent Sick Visits: Consultations for stable, non-life-threatening medical issues—such as mild skin issues, ear infections, minor limping, or subtle behavior changes—that need medical attention but do not require immediate emergency care.
- Rabies Vaccine Administration: Appointments specifically structured to administer the Rabies vaccine, ensuring your pet stays legally compliant and protected against this fatal virus under direct veterinarian supervision.
Emergency:
Reserved strictly for same-day booking for urgent issues that cannot wait, such as acute vomiting, eye problems, or severe lethargy, acute lameness ect.
- Acute Vomiting or Diarrhea: Sudden, severe, or persistent gastrointestinal distress, especially if accompanied by blood or weakness.
- Eye Problems: Sudden redness, squinting, discharge, swelling, or cloudiness, which can quickly turn into permanent sight-threatening issues.
- Severe Lethargy: Extreme weakness, unresponsiveness, collapse, or a sudden, dramatic drop in your pet’s normal energy level.
- Acute Lameness: Sudden, severe limping, inability to bear weight on a leg, or obvious signs of severe pain when moving.
- Toxin or Foreign Body Ingestion: Known or suspected consumption of poisonous foods, chemicals, human medications, or non-food objects.
- Trauma or Injuries: Recent accidents, animal bites, deep lacerations, or suspected fractures needing immediate stabilization and pain relief.
- Tech Appointment: Available for quick routine services like non-Rabies vaccines, Cytopoint, Librela, nail trims, or routine anal glands. Pets must be up to date on an annual exam, and no Rabies vaccines can be given in these slots.
Tech Appointments
Tech appointments are quick, streamlined visits handled directly by our skilled veterinary technicians for routine maintenance and recurring treatments. Because a veterinarian is not performing a physical examination during these slots, your pet must have had a comprehensive annual exam with one of our doctors within the past 12 months.
Services Offered in Tech Appointments:
- Non-Rabies Vaccines: Booster shots for established vaccines (such as Distemper/Parvo, Bordetella, Lyme, Leptospirosis, or Feline Leukemia) to keep your pet’s immunity up to date.
- Cytopoint Injections: Rapid, targeted relief for dogs on a regular treatment schedule for allergic itchiness and skin allergies.
- Librela Injections: Monthly osteoarthritis pain management injections for dogs with an established prescription.
- Solensia Injections: Monthly osteoarthritis pain management injections for cats with an established prescription.
- Nail Trims: Routine maintenance to keep your pet’s nails at a comfortable length and prevent overgrowth or splitting.
- Routine Anal Gland Expressions: Maintenance for pets that require periodic manual expression to prevent discomfort or impaction.
Strict Policy Note: No Rabies vaccines can be administered during a Tech Appointment. By state law and medical protocol, Rabies vaccinations require a veterinarian to physically examine the pet on the same day prior to administration. If your pet needs a Rabies vaccine, please schedule a standard Office Visit.
Week-Of Appointments:
Reserved for non-critical sick visits and rechecks needing prompt attention. Annual exams cannot be booked in these slots and will be declined.
Week-Of Appointments
Week-Of slots are dedicated, short-notice appointment openings reserved specifically for pets with prompt medical needs that cannot wait weeks for a standard opening, but are not life-threatening emergencies. These openings allow us to accommodate unexpected, non-critical health concerns quickly.
What Can Be Booked in Week-Of Slots:
- Prompt Sick Visits: Non-life-threatening medical issues that need evaluation within a few days—such as mild stomach upset, ear infections, minor skin irritations, new limping, or sudden coughing.
- Timely Rechecks: Medical follow-up visits that need to occur within a specific timeframe to evaluate ongoing treatments, healing progress, or medication adjustments.
Strict Booking Criteria: Annual wellness exams, routine vaccinations, and non-urgent preventative care CANNOT be booked into Week-Of slots. These openings are strictly safeguarded to ensure sick and recovering pets get the timely care they need. Any annual wellness appointments scheduled in these specific slots will be declined or canceled.
