A History of Service
Copake Veterinary Hospital has been a cornerstone of the Tri-State area since 1947. Originally founded to support the needs of our local farming community, the practice has evolved alongside the region. In 2021, we transitioned into a full-service small animal hospital, and in March 2024, the practice was purchased by Dr. Tyler Hotaling and his wife. As independent owners, their vision is to steward this historic practice into a new era of veterinary excellence.

We are proud to be an American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accredited hospital—a rigorous distinction achieved by fewer than 10% of veterinary clinics nationwide. We hold ourselves to these elite standards to ensure your pets receive the best care possible.

In an era of increasing corporate consolidation, Copake Veterinary Hospital remains one of the few independently owned practices in the area. We believe this independence allows us to focus entirely on our patients and our community. Our approach is deeply collaborative. We maximize the expertise of our five Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs), supported by a dedicated team of experienced assistants and client service representatives. By fostering a true team environment, we ensure every patient benefits from a wealth of collective knowledge.

Looking toward the future, our goal is to continuously expand the services we offer. While we are fortunate to have specialists nearby, the rising cost of specialty care has unfortunately placed many transformative treatments and advanced procedures out of reach for some families. We aim to bridge this gap by leveraging the advanced skills of our veterinarians and the latest medical technology, ensuring our patients receive the sophisticated care they need at a price that remains accessible.
